Characteristics Of Alloy Steel Wire

The main characteristics of alloy steel wire include high strength, good toughness and fatigue performance, corrosion resistance, high precision and good processing performance. Alloy steel wire is made by adding a certain proportion of alloying elements (such as chromium, nickel, molybdenum, etc.) to steel to improve the strength, hardness and corrosion resistance of steel. Specifically:

High strength: The yield strength of alloy steel wire at room temperature is usually not less than 590MPa, and the tensile strength is not less than 900MPa. At high temperatures, such as 650℃, the yield strength can still reach about 450MPa, and the tensile strength is about 750MPa.
Good toughness and fatigue performance: Alloy steel wire is not prone to brittle fracture when subjected to impact loads, and can withstand more cycles under alternating stress without fatigue damage.
Corrosion resistance: Alloy steel wire will form a stable oxide film on the surface in a high-temperature oxidizing environment, and has good high-temperature oxidation resistance. In weak acidic and weak alkaline solutions, the corrosion rate is low.
‌High precision and good processing performance‌: Alloy steel wire has high dimensional accuracy and can meet various applications with extremely high dimensional accuracy requirements. It has good hot processing performance, and the forging temperature is generally controlled at 980-1120℃. It can also be cold processed, but work hardening will occur after cold processing‌.
